Local Reclamation Yard in Northampton

Tuesday, May 31st, 2011

With the increasing pressure on the construction industry to become more economical, many contractors are obtaining sustainable materials from reclamation yards. A reclamation yard is not always the first port of call from which to acquire building materials. However, when you consider the numerous benefits, they become significantly more appealing. Finding a reclamation yard which has an array of different building materials can sometimes be extremely difficult. However, at C Jackson & Sons we also carry out demolition services, allowing us to regaularly replenish our vast stock of building materials available as part of our reclamation Northampton procedures.

Through the occupation, construction and demolition of a building, the building industry has an extensive impact on the environment. The Department for Environment Food and Rural Affairs (Defra) latest report in 2010 shows the total waste generated in England from the commercial and industrial sector estimated to be at a total of 48million tonnes. Although this is an improvement from the 2003 report which estimated a total of 68 million tonnes in waste, there is definitely room for improvement. As such, commercial and industrial sectors are increasingly under pressure to source sustainable materials.

A key reason for the dramatic reduction of waste is down to the commercial and industrial sector reusing building materials. Our reclamation yard enhances the availability of such materials, and with a regular supply of building materials sourced from our demolition services, you will be able to find quality building materials.

If you are searching for a reclamation Northampton which is commonly replenished with fresh, quality building materials then you need to contact C Jackson & Sons. With our dual business salvaging materials from our demolition services, you will be sure to find the material you are looking for. If you would like to get in touch with us, then you can phone us directly on 01604 549094 or alternatively you can contact us via our website which also lists our services.

Recycling Station Milton Keynes

Wednesday, January 5th, 2011

With the ongoing concerns surrounding environmental issues such as climate change and global warming, it’s vital that those of us in the construction trade do our bit by recycling. This isn’t only the most responsible method of waste disposal but it allows for the re-use of construction material and aggregates. As a company that is actively working with the building industry, here at Smith Construction we have opened a station for recycling Milton Keynes to process builder’s waste from our own and other companies.

At Smith Construction we have a fully licensed recycling station Milton Keynes which we opened in 2002. This is used for the sorting and processing of the construction trade’s waste to produce secondary aggregates that can be re-used in the construction industry, both by ourselves and other companies that we supply to.

All the waste from skips, demolitions and other construction work which is sent to our recycling station is screened before being separated and processed. This includes concrete being crushed ready to be re-used in our own and other companies’ construction projects, soil being recycled ready to be used again as topsoil and bricks being cleaned before being released back into the building trade.

At Smith Construction, we’ve made a conscious decision to acquire the latest crushing and screening equipment for our recycling station Milton Keynes. By doing this, we have been able to maximise our productivity, turning waste into re-usable building materials, while decreasing the impact on the environment.

So if you work within the construction trade and would like to learn more about why we have such a respected reputation for recycling, or if you’d just like to take advantage of the services we offer at our station for recycling Milton Keynes, why not visit our website or call the us and speak to one of our experienced team.

What Does Recycling Insurance Cover?

Tuesday, May 4th, 2010

It is essential that all businesses are properly insured, particularly considering the huge insurgence in claims against companies in recent years. At LMI Ltd, we appreciate that as each business and the risk attached to their industry varies, so should the insurance policies available to them. That is why we have developed a division of our company that specialises in recycling insurance for those in the waste and recycling industry. But what exactly is recycling insurance and what does it include?

The waste industry is often considered high risk, partly due to the use of heavy-duty machinery, the transportation of waste, the handling of hazardous products and the fact that contractors often work closely with the public, collecting skips and waste materials from homes and businesses. The policies offered here at LMI Ltd are tailored to those in the waste sector to provide a fully comprehensive cover, and they are extremely competitive.

Our recycling insurance policies can provide cover against all areas that could affect a company within the recycling and waste sector including; Property, Machinery and Plant, Public and Employers Liability, Environmental Impairment, Professional Indemnity, Directors & Officers. In addition we can arrange cover for vehicles and transit risks.

The importance of Liability Insurance has become increasingly evident in recent years, many individuals having been claiming against companies and local authorities in the hope of winning thousands or even hundreds of thousands of pounds. Liability cover options available in our policies can ensure that almost any damage or injuries to the public, employees, their property and the environment is covered with further protection available under our professional indemnity and directors and officers indemnity policies.

We list many (but not all) of the recycling and waste operations that our insurance policies can benefit on our website, including bio-mass plants, those that deal with industrial trade waste, electronic waste and almost all types of recycling businesses.

Those companies that are interested in specialist recycling insurance can learn more by visiting our website; here they can find extensive information about our policies. They can also receive further details or request a quotation by filling out our simple online contact form or by calling our team.
